Other Information | Awarded the Military Cross – 11/07/1919: During the operations neat Fontaine-les-Cappy, on the 27th to 29th August 1918, as intelligence officer to the battalion, he was indefatigable in carrying out reconnaissances. He was never out of touch with the retreating enemy, though often under very severe artillery and machine gun fire. Throughout the operations he set a splendid example all ranks of courage and devotion to duty, and his untiring energy and skill were of the utmost value, both to the battalion and the division. |
