He attended the Fremantle Boys School, and on leaving school worked as a farmer.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Broome Connection<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Frank&#8217;s older sister Hilda married into the Talboys, a pearling family in Broome. His brother Hubert was also involved in the pearling industry. Frank was working on the luggers when war broke out. He enlisted in Broome and his attestation paper was signed by the Mayor of Broome W. Clarke-Hall. His medical was performed in Broome by medical officer J. Smythe-Yule.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">War Service<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Frank enlisted in Broome and traveled to Blackboy Hill camp, where he was posted to the 11th Battalion, 6th Reinforcement. While still in camp he was promoted to Sergeant, having had earlier military experience. He sailed for Egypt in June 1915 and after a short stay there went to Gallipoli on the 3rd August. Frank was killed in action during the battle at Walker&#8217;s Ridge on the 6th August, only three days after arriving at the front.
