I got a good lot of my own back there and just before Xmas we left the trenches and were taken quietly away to Lemnos Island. We stopped here a few days and on Jan, 1 we went onboard the S.S. Lake Michigan, a fine big transport, and were taken to Alexandria; took the tram there and were taken Tel-el-Keber; stopped in camp two weeks and then went down the Suez Canal, to the west side where the fight took place between the British and Turks. Their bodies are still there, some buried, others lying out in the open. After a week there 500 of us were picked to form a camel corps and we are going to fight the Senoussi Arabs, who are very troublesome.
