He was the son of Henry &amp; Clara Caporn. His father was a carrier in the Roebourne district.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Broome Connection<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Harold was living in Broome and working as a baker when he enlisted for World War One. The mayor of Broome, Walter Clarke-Hall signed his attestation paper and his medical was performed in Broome by district medical officer Smythe-Yule.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">War Service<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Harold enlisted in February 1915 and was assigned to the 10th Light Horse, 6th Regiment. Four months after enlisting, the unit embarked from Fremantle per the<em> Karoola<\/em>.
