He remained in Gallipoli until November 1915 when he was sent to Malta and hospitalised for illness. After the withdrawal from Gallipoli Frank was transferred to the 1st ANZAC Camel Corps and was promoted to Lance Corporal. After two months of training the newly formed camel patrols left their depot at Abassi on the outskirts of Cairo to patrol the Libyan Desert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Frank remained with the Camel Corps until the Second Battle of Gaza, when he was killed in action.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[su_quote cite=&#8221;Letter from Frank Levy, published in North West Echo 08\/01\/1916&#8243;]&#8221;Life here is hard work and hard tucker and water has to be brought from Alexandria.
